Manage Time or Time Will Manage You!!!
In a recent article published in Psychology Today, Shira Polan (2016, "So Little Time") discussed why many of us struggle to prioritize and fit our passions into a hectic family and work schedules. This is especially hard during the busiest times of the year. With the holidays right around the corner here are few helpful strategies she suggests:
1. "Be aware of should": This mind trap leads to excess stress when we feel as if we HAVE TO or MUST do something. Try challenging yourself by asking, "What's the worst thing that will happen if I don't do this right now."
2. "Pencil in your passions": We often structure our day around important appointments, meetings, and work schedules. Why not schedule your passions in a similar way. If your passion brings balance and perspective to your life it might be work setting time aside for these activities.
